Beating Hearts
Word Count: 547 Prompt: & Koushiro A/N: As the years go on I find something new to love about the relationship between Taichi and Koushiro. Romantic or not, these two have a lot of potential stored in them, and I don't think I completely did it justice. Continuing on with my personal theme of pain for myself, this one nearly did a huge number on me. I hope Koushiro and Taichi would have liked it. @taichiyagamiweek
The office looked empty without Tentomon buzzing around. It filled Taichi with a certain unease that somehow hadn't been following him in every other instance of this. Maybe because of the specific way Koushiro and Tentomon complemented each other, a singular unit of technology and science that functioned better together than they did alone. Taichi had always considered them one person, at least subconsciously.
Before Koushiro could begin whatever conversation he intended on having, Taichi bowed low, practically bending in half. "I'm so sorry."
He could hear the gears whirring in Koushiro's brain, hear the way he blinked once, then twice, then a third and fourth time, trying to process the reason for the apology. Finally, the younger boy said, "Why are you apologizing?"
Straightening up, Taichi tried not to meet his friend's gaze, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "We sped up the process, didn't we? And now you're alone."
Koushiro didn't answer at first, turning away and walking over to the window of his office. Taichi's brain inserted the image of Tentomon buzzing beside him, chattering away while Koushiro smiled that soft smile of his. The more he witnessed these cruel separations, the broken hearts left behind by a decision that was never theirs to make, the more Taichi's heart hurt. Whereas he felt the emptiness Agumon had left behind, he felt the hole beside his friends. It hurt so much to see what the Digital World had wrought upon them.
Lightly, Koushiro touched the window with the pads of his fingers, sighing. "There was bound to be something like Eosmon," he pointed out. "That's the way of our two worlds. Something is always at stake, always threatening the status quo. This was no different." He looked over his shoulder and smiled. "Do you regret any of it?"
The man who used to be a boy with goggles shook his head, grinning wryly. "Never. I'll never regret it."
"Neither will the rest of us." Koushiro turned fully to face him, backlit by the setting sun. "We had one last battle together, all eight of us. Including Sora." His mouth twitched; when he had become aware of what happened to Sora, he had been stricken, and Taichi wondered if perhaps Koushiro shouldered the guilt for not knowing what had afflicted their friend earlier than even Yamato or he. "All we can do now is watch over those who still have their partners and hope we'll find a way to see them again."
"If anyone can find the way, it's you, Koushiro. You were always the greatest of us that way." Taichi fingered the goggles in his pocket, his mind supplying memories of all the times Koushiro had literally and figuratively saved their butts, even when he was not directly involved in the fight at hand. "I'd say you're at the height of your potential."
"Aren't all of us? This isn't the end, Taichi." Koushiro placed his hand over his heart. "As long as our hearts are beating, I know we'll find a way."
Smiling widely, Taichi made his way over to his friend and held out his fist. Koushiro formed a fist with his own hand and bumped it lightly against Taichi's. A promise made between those who had always shouldered more than was fair.

teen! satoru knows he should be wary. this has happened to him before—someone asks one thing about his favorite interest and next thing he knows, he’s been going on a ten minute ramble about digimon.
you don’t really say anything as he talks, just sit there watching him with your phone in your hand, but you barely glance at it. it kind of makes him nervous. are you recording him? maybe you’re gonna laugh at him later with your friends. even at the humiliating thought, satoru can’t seem to stop himself. he wants friends so badly, and you approached him. he can’t help giving you the benefit of the doubt. he’s so trusting. or desperate, maybe?
there are two students lingering in the desks behind youa boy and a girl. they’d been sitting there chatting before, but now their heads are turned in his direction. satoru’s voice cracks when he notices. he clears his throat before continuing, albeit a little quieter and with a lot more anxiety. they’ve said mean things to him, bullied him before over anything they could latch onto about his personality.
and there it goes—not even a minute later, the boy sneers at satoru: “you’re so boring. nobody wants to hear about–“
yet before he can finish, you’re turning to glare at him. “could you shut up? i was listening to gojo.”
all three of them are shocked—satoru, and both the other students. there’s a faint blush creeping up satoru’s face at your defense, and he thinks ‘you remember my name?’.
both the boy and girl’s mouths sit agape. the kid opens it and closes it again, apparently short-circuiting over a response, but you don’t focus on him for a second further, instead turning immediately back to satoru.
“go on.”, you speak in a friendlier tone to him. “you were saying? about the tolerance for skullgreymon?”
the light pink tint forming over satoru’s face deepens into a crimson red, and he sputters out an, “i–, what–?!”
your smile widens, and then you giggle at him. “the skullgreymon? you were talking about how you evolved your greymon in digimon?”
satoru blinks, completely incredulous. wait, you were actually listening? he figured you had zoned out partway through his rant and was just nodding along.
other remaining students have begun deserting the classroom at the bell. satoru watches as you grab your bag, stop, and then turn to him.
“well, c’mon.”, you encourage after he hesitates. “i’m going to go meet some friends, i want you to come with!”
your friends?, satoru thinks. he wonders if they’re like you, accepting and patient and nice to him. he glances at the boy and girl still sitting at their desks, though now whispering to each other and frowning in your and satoru’s direction.
he thinks he’ll take his chances with you.

Nerd!Gojo who has never really been interested in girls, not that they were interested in him either.
His personality, copious amount of digimon shirts and his condescending attitude has sent every girl sprinting in the opposite direction. Any girl who showed any flicker of interest because of his looks learned quickly why the others steered clear of him.
Nerd!Gojo who never minded that until he saw you. You were a transfer student halfway through the spring semester. The professor had introduced you to the class in the usual monotone he lectured in.
You had smiled and taken the seat next to his at the front of the class. He had blinked in confusion at you choosing to sit next to him when there were multiple other seats open. You didn’t talk to him though, just began to take notes as the teacher lectured.
Nerd!Gojo who is naturally gifted when it comes to his classes except for history. He can do math problems in seconds but can’t really tell the Nara and Heian eras apart.
You, on the other hand, know all the answers to every question. The pride that he had cultivated from his constant ability to know things suffers when he can’t answer the teacher but you answer with practiced ease.
Nerd!Gojo who, for the first time in his academically gifted life, tries to study. He does his best but something about it just isn’t sticking. He can answer the question after he studies but they slip his mind as soon as he is next to you in class.
You must be throwing him off somehow.
Nerd!Gojo who blushes bright red with frustration and something else when you help him understand a term in the textbook he has been glaring at for the past fifteen minutes. You just smile kindly, not knowing how you frustrate him.
Nerd!Gojo who decides to just ignore you, if he doesn’t talk to you long enough you will find another seat and stop frustrating him. You catch on to him ignoring him three days in. This doesn’t seem to effect you much and you just keep to yourself.
Nerd!Gojo who comes to a horrifying realisation a week into his plan, he likes your attention.

Digimon Adventure Reboot Sequel AU - Prologue: Dreams
Tumblr media
Summary: It's been years since the Chosen Children have saved both the Digital World and the Real World back in 2020. Things are mostly peaceful... Or so Taichi keeps telling himself, as he has been haunted by dreams for years - dreams about adventures he hasn't lived through himself, everything is familiar yet a little bit weird. They're becoming more and more vivid as time goes by, messing with his head, his perception, his memories - and he's not sure how long he can continue to be his most courageous self without anyone else noticing the cracks.
Chapter list: [Prologue] [0] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
Resources: [This pretty little AU idea that hasn't left my head ever since] [Designs] [First Idea] [Playlist] [Ao3]
Word count: 900
When the dreams had first begun, Taichi hadn’t given it much thought.
"I haven't given up.”
Dreaming about adventures in the Digital World – considering how often he had gone gate-hopping alongside various of his friends for years now, ever since they had saved the place for the first time –, shouldn’t be surprising.
“You guys taught me that there's always something I can do until the end.”
He hadn’t even wondered about how different the Digital World had looked – things were often a little to the left within dreams, they weren’t exactly how one experienced them in real life after all. Places, people, clothes, devices… Nothing too worrisome.
For the first weeks, months, there wasn’t even a need for him to question the frequency of his dreams – since, at first, he quickly forgot about them shortly after waking up anyway. But then, slowly, but steadily, things had started to become more vivid.
“The future will continue and become connected.”
He began hearing the voices more clearly, recognizing most of them immediately – like a long forgotten yet familiar memory, seeping into his waking hours and sneaking back into his head. Which, again, didn’t happen all the time and also not consistently, but when he met up with his friends, asking Sora, Koushirou and the others for another trip into the net, he occasionally felt reminded again.
Of islands, trolleys, mountains. Of black gears, tags, cards. Of monkeys, vampires and clowns. Sometimes, he woke up feeling like someone had punched him in the face, other times, tears were streaming down his cheeks.
“I'll pass it on to you. Our... Our grown up... Hope.”
Still, he had decided to keep it all to himself – not matter how much he had been bothered by a slight sting of guilt in his chest whenever his glance had crossed Hikari’s, first thing in the morning. There had been no urgency to act. Years had passed and, aside from a few minor calls, their duty as Chosen Children had been “on hold” for the most part, so most of the travels to the Digital World had happened on their own devices. But whenever he entered the void, with Agumon right next to him, the voices, the images of his friends had become more detailed.
Nevertheless, he had gone through the entirety of middle school without telling a soul. About other voices he had never heard before, dark towers, digital eggs. How the person he saw himself as in his dreams seemed so strange yet so much like home that it scared him sometimes. He had brushed it aside every single time.
But now, in his second year of high school, they had almost turned into aggressive visions.
“Listen, Yagami.”
Last night, his dream had revolved around someone he had seen several times before – but only in his dreams. He appeared to be a teacher, his teacher to be exact. Sitting on the floor of some sort of control room, covered in blood, talking to him. Taichi himself had been stuck in a capsule, a countdown clock right next to him. Time was running out.
“No matter how hard reality is up ahead, don't ever give up.”
He had been about to die. And there was nothing he could have done. He remembered how his dream self had tried to smash the capsule into pieces, getting through to him. But it was all in vain. Regardless of how much he had wanted to scream, he couldn’t move.
“You guys go build the future.”
Even though he had never seen that man in real life, he had felt a connection. Felt like he owed him to get him out of that place this time. As if to make up for what he couldn’t have done before.
“Dream big!"
And yet, it had been all for naught. Once again, he had woken up in tears. Had checked whether there had been blood anywhere on his body, as it had felt almost frighteningly real. Not only that, his mouth felt awfully dry, as if he had screamed the word “Sensei!” out loud himself.
Heart pounding, sweating, Taichi couldn't help but wonder how long he could still keep quiet. Under no circumstances would he worry any of his friends about this – that he had sworn to himself. He was the bearer of the Crest of Courage, he had always, always found a way to push through, smile in the face of adversity. The others relied on him for that. The voices kept telling him that this was part of his duty – be courageous for the sake of everyone. More courageous than the self he saw in his dreams at least – who seemed to fall deeper into despair with every passing dream.
Taichi didn’t understand why there was such a discrepancy – as he had finally begun to ask questions. He felt sympathy for his dream self, a sense of remorse circling around all of his actions, as if there were a million things he regretted and wanted to make right. Watching himself like that only left him with the urge to… Give himself a hug. And ask him why he pushed his friends away like that, why he was so at odds with Yamato, so distanced from Sora, Koushirou and even Hikari…
He wouldn’t let that happen to himself. He would push further. Without worrying anyone about it.
He had to after all.

Happy Halloween, Koushiro!
I uploaded a drabble I wrote ages ago to AO3, but crucially, with a drawing of Koushiro's Halloween costume. LOOK AT THE HANDSOME LAD. It's under 700 words and features Koushiro, Mimi, and Taichi.
I try to write something really heartfelt for Koushiro week, but I just had so much going on this year. If you're looking for something like that, please check out Ladybug House or Sans San!
Happy Koushiro week, and happy Halloween! Love you!

"You don't mind?" He rested his chin softly on Patamon's back like he was a pillow.
When he was little, Takeru had often found himself chewing on Patamon's wing ears as he held him in his lap. Now that he was older, he was a bit more self conscious about it, but he still found himself doing the same thing when he was stressed. Gathering Patamon into his arms or his lap and nibbling gently on the soft flesh of his funny little wings.
"It tickles! But I don't mind. I chew on you sometimes."
"Guess it's mutual." Takeru smiled.

So, i decided to gather a few drabbles of my OTP and drop it on AO3.
They're random, and it might be updated when i get new drabbles done.
⚠There's spoilers for 02TB in those drabbles, so I recommend reading them AFTER watching the movie.
They're just fluff and a bit of angst though... But yeah, Daisuke/Rui drabbles. You can ask me to write them stuff with them too!! Just please keep them SFW for this blog (^・ω・^ )
(might cross-post them here too, later... they were originally for my RP blog/acc orz)

Hikari could always see them. Sometimes they’d fade into the world when lights went buzzy, or televisions shorted out. Sometimes they’d be lurking in shadows around people just before they’d get into fights her mother would shoo her from to protect her from seeing.
When her brother saw them she was overjoyed. When Koromon ate the food she was too sick (always too sick) to eat, and the food vanished, she was relieved. Her brother talked about how Koromon was his partner—
Did she have a partner? She prayed she did. But as the night fell on her empty home, Mom and Dad were still out while she tipped back her medicine and put yet another plate of uneaten rice in the fridge. She didn’t see any smiling face looking at her from shadowy static.
Hikari sat under a single lamp’s light in the otherwise dark apartment , wondering how long she’d be alone. Would her father and mother come home soon? Would her brother ever make it back after he’d left her, hand outstretched to keep him there or come along, in the Odaiba street?
Would she ever meet a partner of her own? Hikari didn’t want to be alone.

Word Count: 623 Prompt: Fifth Adventure A/N: Local Tri apologist here. (Listen, high school me REALLY loved new Digimon content coming out while she was aware of it.) Anyyyyyyway. There was (1) aspect of Tri that I always took umbrage with, and it was that Homeostasis kinda went "actually, we don't need you." Like what? So Takari is my vessel for standing up to that! LOOK AT THEM GO! @takariweek
"This is weird, right?"
Hikari looked up and over at Takeru, who was sitting on the floor a little ways away. She had been petting Tailmon's hair for… she'd lost track. A while. How long had they been sitting here in silence? A few minutes? Hours? Days? Months? No. It had only been about twenty minutes. Calm down, Hikari.
Her voice was a bit hoarse as she said, "Very."
"I mean. They picked us, right? We're the Chosen, and now they—they don't want us anymore? What kind of sick joke is that?" Takeru had been bent over Patamon, clutching his Digimon partner tightly like a stuffed animal. The poor creature looked so forlorn to see Takeru in such a state. But now, the blond sat up, locking his gaze with Hikari's, blue eyes desperate and widened. "Are they going to do this to all the Chosen? Wallace? The kids in New York? Russia? Mexico? What's fair about that?"
"It's not fair." Hikari's words came out bitter enough that even Tailmon looked surprised. "They can't change our lives forever and then try to reverse it. It's too late. We've been in this for years."
"What can we do? They already don't want us involved."
"We got involved the moment we met Meiko. Whether they like it or not, we're as much a part of this as she is." Hikari glanced out the window. "And we can't just leave one of our own behind."
"Of course we can't." A sly grin appeared on his face. "Daisuke would have our heads if we did."
"Do you think they're okay?" Hikari whispered. "I… I don't like that we don't know where they are."
"I wish we could've been there to help them. We should've been. If we'd been there, maybe we could have used Jogress evolution…" Takeru shook his head. "We're going to help Meiko, and we're going to find them. That's all we can hope for right now."
Hikari couldn't help it—she raised an eyebrow. "Really leaning into that, are you?"
"Hey, it's worked before. Surely it will work this time." Takeru made to stand up, holding out a hand for her. "Shall we?"
"Let's. Maybe by now the 'adults' have stopped going in circles." Hikari took his hand and stood with him, and they smiled at each other. Even more than their brothers, they had always been able to strengthen the other's resolve with minimal effort. Such was the way of being Hikari and Takeru.
"We always need to save them, don't we?"
"I think we always will."
Hikari let Takeru pull her out of her apartment and toward where the others had surely gathered by now. Their hands remained joined, clasped tightly. She was his anchor, and he was hers. Even as the world, their lives, crumbled around them, they still had each other. As it always had been. As it always would be, Homeostasis be damned.

•Oh booooyyyy, it be a blessing on its own getting this Vegeta wannabe to like you, but if ya somehow blessingly are able to do it, congrats.
•Now ya gotta take care of a emotional unstable boy, who might be a bit clingy and cold at first but with time open up to you.
•honestly speaking, it may differ how the relationship is gonna be in terms of who asked first.
•If you asked, I think he be shocked at first but try act tsundere and cool at first but inside 100 Billion Atombombs are exploding inside of him and the overwheelming feeling of happiness.
•If he magicly was able to ask ya first, and ya say yes he be proud and happy, he would spend time with you and try to play many things cool.
•The main point of what I am trying to say is that if you asked him, he might be a bit softer then if he asked you first and it might differ where your relationships is heading off onto.
•If ya somehow get the chance to meet his Gabumon, Gabumon would actually be very happy for the both of you and try to spend time with the both you.
•If ya meet his friends, oh boy Tai is gonna tease him til both of them start to fight, but nope otherwise speaking Tai would be happy just like Gabumon and actually support the both of you.
•TK might be shocked at first but would be happy for his big bro, and support the both of you
•All the others would show simmiliar reactions and support ya and be happy for ya.
_____________________________
Alone time:
•Spending time with him would be relaxing.
•It would take some time til he opens up to you but he honestly would love and would appreciate you to you fullest.
•Him being Emotion unstable is gonna take time, but when he opens up to you, he finally is gonna feel the love that he carved for so dearly
•You would honestly be his emotional support teddy, and if ya expect some privacy, ya can forget it, as he will be 24/7 by your side.
•After some time he will soften up to such a great extent that you wont even think that the new Matt was once the old one.
•But truly speaking, ya both would be such a cute couple protecting another and caring for another til the end and everyone would find that cute and tease ya for it til ya both are red as strawberries.

Digimon Secret Santa Exchange 2023: Don't blame me (you started it)
Kuga Yuuya never texted her first. Until he did.
Written for @hallowed-nebulae for the @digisecretsanta 2023 exchange! :3
a/n: i'm your secret santa and (like i said on ao3 lol) i'm not entirely familiar with the digimon world series, or i wasn't until recently, so i hope i did your two favorites, Rina & Yuuya, justice!! i've enjoyed the gameplay so far of Re:digitize Decode and i enjoyed writing these two. i hope you have a safe and merry Christmas, and happy holidays!! <333 :D
Oh, and here's my Digimon discord server if you wanna yell abt digimon with us!
Read on AO3! || Read below the cut:
Kuga Yuuya did not texted her first.
It wasn’t something subjective—it was a simple, known fact! She wasn’t sure Yuuya texted anyone first. Often, when Rina texted him, Yuuya left her (very cruelly) on read. Sometimes he left her on delivered. Which was like, extremely rude, thank you very much.
(Granted, none of those messages were because of actual emergencies, but still. Her memes were nonetheless very important and warranted a response. But Yuuya had ignored her. Because of course he did. The jerk.)
So, naturally, when Rina’s phone vibrated and pinged, and Yuuya’s contact lit up her screen, Rina gaped. She blinked, surprised, and it took several moments to register that oh yeah, she should read the message.
Hey, Yuuya had written plainly. Jeesh, and he called everyone else boring.
Yeah, the world had totally ended. Sometime in the last few minutes, the world had ended and Rina had died and gone to an afterlife where apparently Kuga Yuuya texted her first.
She debated on calling him to see what was up, but that ran the risk of scaring him off because he didn’t even text, let alone call; so Rina leaned back in her chair and did what she did best.
Rina: hey!!!! ┌( ^◡^ )┘whatcha up to???
Yuuya: Studying. You use a lot of exclamation points, Rina-san.
Rina: and u text like the heir of the gigo company lol
Yuuya: Is… that a good or a bad thing?
Rina blinked again, her lips curving into a frown. She narrowed her eyes at her screen suspiciously, and who could blame her? Since when did Yuuya care about her opinion of him?
Rina: not bad!!! was just kiddin lol (≧_≦)
Yuuya: Okay.
She sent him another text that mostly consisted of emotes and exclamation points (perhaps proving his point), and this time, it took a while for Yuuya to respond. At least a good ten minutes.
Yuuya: What about you? What’re you up to?
Okay. Wow. She peeked out her bedroom window—yep, still snowing. Which meant it was still mid-December and she was still in Japan. Maybe. Probably. If she wasn’t… did it snow in the afterlife? To what afterlife had she been sent, for Yuuya to not only respond but ask about her in return? Smug, snooty Yuuya? What the hell was even happening? She couldn’t even begin to know the answer to that.
Instead, she answered Yuuya.
Rina: just chillin!!! not really doing much haha it’s boring w/o V.V. here tbh
Yuuya: I see.
Another pause followed. Rina stood from her chair and made her way to her bed to sprawl out, phone in hand, as she awaited the continuation of their conversation. She got bored waiting on minute three and decided she couldn’t handle the suspense anymore.
Rina: so whats up???
Yuuya: I’m studying.
Rina: well duh u said that already i meant why did u text me
Yuuya: You text me all the time.
Rina: yeah! but u like never answer soooooo
Yuuya: Sorry.
Oh good god, okay. Yuuya, apologizing? Prideful, arrogant Yuuya? Maybe she’d gone to some alternate dimension—somewhere that wasn’t the digital world—where everything was the same except for one fifteen-year-old Kuga Yuuya.
She frowned again, this time in contemplation. As she pondered how to respond, she kicked her feet idly against her bed, tapping the back of her phone case if only to keep her fingers moving.
She wondered absentmindedly if his dad scolded him or something. From what she knew, Kuga Kenzou was more insufferable than Yuuya—which, of course, made sense considering he was Yuuya’s father—so it wasn’t much of a stretch to say he wasn’t all that great of a parent.
Her chest ached inexplicably at the thought and her frown deepened.
Rina: is ur dad being a bitch
Yuuya: Huh?
Rina: ya know ur dad is he being a bitch lol
Yuuya: I don’t see what he has to do with the conversation.
Then, after about a minute:
Yuuya: Father is always being a bitch.
Rina: lol!! i believe it honestly
And because Rina was a gremlin with no sense of self-control:
Rina: his ass must really hurt from the stick shoved in it
Yuuya: Lol.
Rina blinked once more in surprise and then grinned at her screen because this was another new thing—Yuuya laughing at a joke? A joke she made? She didn’t even know Yuuya could laugh, much less over text. She didn’t know he even had a sense of humor.
They spent the next hour or so texting, with Rina sending memes (the normal amount) and emotes (also the normal amount) and Yuuya telling her that it was, in fact, not the normal amount. Eventually, the time between Yuuya’s responses grew longer and longer, and Rina assumed that he’d averted his full attention back to studying.
Rina: ur a fun texter lol
Rina: not as fun as me obviously but still fun just sayin
She sent it without really expecting a response right away, but she was surprised yet again when the reply came in only a few minutes.
Yuuya: Wow. One person approves of my texting habits.
Rina laughed out loud. This was a fun side of Yuuya to see.
(And no, it wasn’t because she felt a little warm inside that he seemed to trust her enough to make jokes with her.)
(She didn’t feel warm inside at all.)
(Yuuya was simply growing on her.)
(Like a fungus.)
Yuuya: Is this supposed to be an honor or a shame, since the person is Rina-san?
Her laugh quickly turned into a scandalized gasp as she stared down at her phone in offense. No, she changed her mind. Yuuya wasn’t growing on her.
“Rude,” she said aloud as if he could hear her, without any hint of fondness in her voice. None at all. "Yer such a punk."
Oh, who was she kidding—she sent him memes, shitposts, and festive, holiday-themed selfies every day after that for the rest of the month. If he was pissed about it, well, he texted her first.

A drabble for the DigiDad crossover, specifically the Exam where Kikoru is being attacked by resurrected by Kaiju No.9
Of all things that Kikoru expected when she took part of the exam, this was something that did not even cross her mind in the craziest fantasies that popped up in her head. Yet here it was, a small bear(what she thought was a toy) was trying to fight off against a Honju that was brought back to life by a strange humanoid kaiju and he was failing.
The small bear was flung into one of the faux buildings that the exam area had, yet despite all the scratches bruises and other wounds it got up from the ground and looked at her.
"Go, get help I can handle this." The strange bear gasped out as it's right arm hung limply at its side, but something in her as she saw this small fuzzy(adorable) and hurt creature causing something in her snap as in her mind her father told her.
'Kikoru, for the future of this country you must be perfect.' That single phrase that has been drilled into her for most of her life caused her to pick up her weapon again.
"I Will Be Perfect!!!" She shouted out as she got up ready to fight against the Honju, granted that soon to be a mistake as it made her seem like a bigger threat, in a flash Kikoru found herself smashed against one of the buildings. Even with pushing her suit as far as she could feel her bones break and stab into her, with the iron taste of blood filling her mouth.
Yet she would not let herself be defeated so easily, as she glared defiantly at the Honju as it stomped towards as a pair of new horns from its skull and a ball of energy began to grow inbetween them.
"I won't lose! I will still fight!" She yelled but sounded more like a cry as the Honju fired off an energy ball at her, and oddly the small bear dashed in front of her as it held up its on good arm.
"Then I'll make sure that you can still fight! I'm not gonna let this jerk hurt you anymore!!" He shouted out with all the strength he had left he glared at the upcoming attack but it seemed he had one last trick to use. As he glowed a brilliant and blinding bluish white light as his form began to change and time slowed down as it did, from a small and cuddly to an absolutely massive more bear like form nearly matching the Honju is size with massive gauntlets paws with metal claws that shined with sharpened steel.
Once the light died down and then time resumed as the Honju's attack raced towards them but the massive bear just growled as it raised on it's hind legs and pulled back one of its massive paws
"MAUL ATTACK!!" It roared its paw became a blurr as it slammed against the energy attack and somehow sent it back to the Honju causing the energy to blow up in its face, literally as the massive bear slammed back onto the ground Kikoru only had one question.
"What are you?" She whispered out as she stared at him awe, and apparently the strange creature heard her as it looked down at her and spoke.
"I'm Gryzmon now"
I LOVE this. Absolutely fits how both Kikoru and Kai felt during the whole confrontation. Done with being thrown by some juiced up zombie.

I noticed that I've never posted the entire set of doodles from my personal Digimon Writing Challenge - Mix and Match this year. It has been a fun way of exploring the different dynamics between the Chosen Children, other Digimon partners than their own - and how each of them are handling their most prominent traits during various points of their lives. Some stories were a little rushed, but I am overall really proud of how they turned out!
